MECX completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and field activities for a Phase II Targeted Brownfields Assessment (TBA) at the Kingman Airport – Burn Pit Site. This TBA is a continuation of the successful development of the Kingman Airport & Industrial Park which is responsible for providing high-end jobs to the citizens of Mojave County. This Site was originally developed as an Army Air Corps Training Facility in the early 1940’s. After World War II, much of the facility was transformed into aircraft salvage and dismantling operations and the runways were turned over to the city. The Site assessment included approximately 16 acres, including a potential burn pit site.

MECX is the environmental consulting firm assisting the EPA in determining if the conditions at the Kingman Airport pose an environmental and/or human health hazard that could impede the developed of the thriving nearby industrial and commercial park. MECX was selected to perform the environmental site assessment based on our experience supporting the EPA, EPA Brownfields Program Staff, local governments, our specific experience with performing TBAs, and our technical skill in handling certain elements of this project as well as our expertise with environmental due diligence and environmental remediation.
