Our History
On February 2, 2002, MECx was formed by the acquisition of ManTech Environmental Corporation (MEC) by two senior managers of MEC a commercial environmental consulting and environmental remediation company whose parent company had been in business since 1968. This strategic acquisition occurred to enable the development and growth of the commercial environmental practice while the former parent pursued other federal security interests. Since its inception, MECx LP has become an innovator in environmental remediation and is recognized worldwide as a leader in onsite treatment of contaminates with InSitu chemical oxidation and ExSitu chemical oxidation applications.
In 2003, MECx LP became one of the first Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and has been a leader in this Federally- mandated program since its inception. As the first SDVOSB NASA prime contractor for NASA, MECx LP has been recognized as a small business of the year nominee and was awarded a safety award as a subcontractor for a large prime contract. In addition to the NASA award, MECx LP has been awarded prime contracts with USEPA, USA Corps of Engineers, Department of Labor, and the Veterans Administration.
With its unequalled safety record and history of innovation, MECx LP, has become a subcontractor of choice for numerous Commercial and Federal Government Prime Contractors. Currently, MECx LP work is equally divided between the Commercial sector and Government Sector. Commercial work is for a wide range of Industries associated with the oil industry and developers. The Federal Sector includes Department of Defense and Department of Energy prime contractors with contracts including USA Corps of Engineers IDIQ contracts and LOGCAP, Navy Hazardous Waste Management, AFCEE Pollution Prevention, and the DOE Strategic Petroleum reserve environmental management.
